Frequently Asked Questions About the Event

What is the location of the event?


The event is located at Bowdoin Park, in Wappingers Falls, NY, which is in Dutchess County in the MidHudson Valley. The park is along the Hudson River, and offers beautiful views of the mountains - which will be spectacular in October! We have two covered outdoor pavilions for our use for the weekend, one of which has a full kitchen and bathrooms. The park's website is here.




Where can I stay during the event?


We have prepared a list of hotels close to the park. All of that local information has been arranged as a courtesy to those who are traveling to the event, and will be sent once you've registered. Attendees will need transportation between their accommodations and the event location.




How can I connect with fellows for carpooling, sharing rooms, and fellowship?


We have created an unofficial WhatsApp group chat for registrants of this event. A link to join will be sent once you've registered.




Will food be provided?


Attendees will provide their own food for this event. We will have an hour and a half on both Saturday and Sunday reserved for lunch. Attendees can either bring their meal or leave the grounds to purchase food. There is a kitchenette in one of the pavilions so attendees can refrigerate/reheat if needed. A list of local supermarkets and restaurants will be sent once you've registered for the event.




Are the pavilions, parking, and bathrooms at the park ADA accessible?


Yes, the parking, pavilions, and bathrooms for this event are all ADA accessible.




What materials should I bring with me?


All registrants will be given materials for the event - a notebook, pens, highlighters, post-its, etc., a Big Book study guide edition, as well as other program pamphlets and goodies! Feel free to bring whatever program journals, literature, or anything else that you feel will support your work during the weekend. We will offer optional meditations and walks during the weekend, so we suggest bringing a pair of sneakers or comfortable shoes. We'll send a schedule of workshops & activities to registrants closer to the event weekend, to let you know if there's anything else you may want to bring.




Is this event rain or shine? What will we do if it is raining?


The event will be held under two large pavilions. If it is raining, we will be protected and will still plan to be there.

What are the COVID protocols for the event?


We've had a lot of questions about COVID protocols for the event, and we were waiting until 30 days out in order to make decisions based upon the most up-to-date information. In accordance with CDC recommendations for outdoor events for people from multiple households, in consideration of the latest data for our state & county, and guided by our first tradition that our common welfare should come first, this event will be masks-on in the pavilions. We will provide masks and hand sanitizer to all attendees.
