Understanding the Journey of Recovery
Discover a compassionate path to wellness through the shared experience, strength, and hope of our fellowship, built on the foundations of mutual support.
At Mid-Hudson Overeaters Anonymous, the journey of recovery is a shared one. We follow the Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions, adapted from the Alcoholics Anonymous model, to address both the physical and emotional aspects of compulsive eating. Our meetings provide a supportive environment where members share their stories and find common solutions. Through the use of recovery tools—including sponsorship, writing, and service—we learn to live one day at a time, finding peace and sanity in our relationship with food. This spiritual program of action is open to anyone who has a desire to stop eating compulsively, offering a path to healing that is sustainable and life-giving.
